About the CCHCE

The Champlain Centre for Health Care Ethics (CCHCE) is a recently developed initiative that provides a centralized regional approach to the provision of health care ethics services within the Champlain region. Health care ethics services have already proven to be beneficial for those having access to them by making organizations more accountable, reducing staff distress, providing alternatives to ethically challenging situations and improving the quality of care. Additionally, Accreditation Canada standards for excellence promote the implementation of ethics related services, frameworks, and governance structure. The vision of the CCHCE is to centralize ethics expertise and services, make them available to all and build a participatory, adaptable, resource sensitive, regional-wide approach to ethics that can address systemic and interrelated ethical issues that all health service providers in the Champlain region face.

Our Mission is to build a region-wide approach to ethics that can address systemic and interrelated ethical issues.

Our Vision is to centralize ethics expertise and services, and make them available to all within the region.

Our Values commit us to support a culturally-sensitive, adaptive, participatory, and fiscally responsible approach to the provision of health care ethics services throughout the Champlain region.

We are committed to assist all health care service providers within the Champlain LHIN region. Please contact us for additional information and/or to receive clinical and organizational ethics support.
